Another Sunday, Another Naive Weekly — Observations From The Internet Wilderness.

Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Good morning,

Many moons ago, I promised never to mention the Hidden Random Link again. It was supposed to be a secret among a selected few readers and then fade from our collective memory.

I’m breaking this promise today because I want to announce that I will dedicate the link to small web games. So if you don’t like browser games, there is no reason for you to continue to click on the Hidden Random Link.

That’s all.

With care,

Kristoffer

FIELD NOTES

Robin Sloan: Describing the Emotions of Life Online

Phenomenal interview with writer and web-explorer Robin Sloan. Robin talks about care and emotions on the web, and he paints pictures with maps and molting nature, so right down my alley. Robin is well-articulated, and his sentiments resonate strongly with mine.

Awards

What website awards do you aspire to win? After visiting lulu’s home in cyberspace and learning about The Magick's Cozy Site Award and The Groovy Site Award, I would be honoured to be rewarded one of them. And I am considering how a Naive Weekly Award could work.

PROMPT

Branches filled with clusters of pink cherry blossoms in the foreground, Yo-Yo wearing a white high collar top and black beret sits on a rock looking contemplatively off camera. There is a neat line of shrubs and a Japanese rock lined garden in the background.

The people behind the wonderful Alt-Text as Poetry project are collecting Alt-Text Selfies for a small book and a small online archive. Submissions are due April 13th.

The Naive Logo. A blue dove with Naive Weekly written on the wings.

Hi, I’m Kristoffer and you have just read Naive Weekly — Observations from the Internet Wilderness.

Last week this letter was sent to 809 people. Thirtythree are crazy enough to chip in every month/year to support me making time to write. Logo by Studio Hollywood. Print by Luka. Photograph by Ana Santl.
