Another Sunday, Another Naive Weekly — Observations From The Internet Wilderness.
Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Good morning,

You deserve a love letter, my favourite piece of art, handwritten with the pastel colours of my heart. Breath to life while touching sunsets together, asking questions to the moon in softer weather.

That’s impossible, I promise, to write Uno and Ana. Adding white and yellow, snowdrops and Eranthis, staying still and waiting for spring. So here is an opportunity: join the special edition of Penpal Café, hosted by zalagasper, connecting ears and hearts through vibrations and art.

With love,

Kristoffer

ROADSIDE FLOWERS

The Sound of Love is songs with love in the comments.

Werner Herzog Valentines is endless wisdom.

Museum of Precious Things is a place to eternalise your favourite object.

Sweethearts is a 1966 poem.

FIELD NOTES

A for Anything

Super post by Benedetta Crippa about what form does in design. It is a comment to recent logo designs, dominated by rational logic and leaving behind emotional and intuitive understandings. The result is uniform and predictable visual identities with questionable historical connections.

Towards a Feminist Tech Policy

I want to like this project. It is an inclusive attempt to define principles for a softer internet, with a beautiful card deck to spark conversations around the role of technology and speculative diary entries to make the principles tangible. However, as I am reading through the website, I find the project too eager and righteous, and, more importantly, I refuse the position of being a victim of big tech monopolies. I’m privileged. And I too carry responsibilities for social, racial, and environmental injustices. Fortunately, this doesn’t exclude me from nurturing and participating in the caring, soft, and poetic internet that already exists. So open your browser window, face the wind, unfold your kite, and stay with the trouble.
